A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to mandatory supervision for certain drug possession
  offenses.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter E, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 508.1491 to read as follows:
         Sec. 508.1491.  MANDATORY SUPERVISION FOR CERTAIN DRUG
  POSSESSION OFFENSES.  Sections 508.149(b), (c), and (d) do not
  apply to an inmate serving a sentence for a third degree felony
  offense under Section 481.115, 481.1151, 481.116, 481.117,
  481.118, or 481.121, Health and Safety Code.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
