| relating to access to information related to investigations by the | ||
| Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 1004, Transportation Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 1004.003 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 1004.003. CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION RELATED TO | ||
| INVESTIGATIONS. Except as necessary to comply with Section | ||
| 2301.202, Occupations Code, information obtained during an | ||
| investigation of a person regulated under Chapter 2301 or 2302, | ||
| Occupations Code, or Chapter 503 or 643 of this code is confidential | ||
| and not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code, | ||
| until the investigation is dismissed or finally resolved. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 2301.612, Occupations Code, is repealed. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
