A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the operation of the juvenile boards of Crosby and
  Lubbock Counties.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 152.0601, Human Resources Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
         (g)  The juvenile board of Crosby County and the juvenile
  boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close
  proximity to Crosby County may agree to operate together with
  respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters
  specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating
  together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse
  funds for the boards.
         SECTION 2.  Section 152.1581, Human Resources Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (i) to read as follows:
         (i)  The juvenile board of Lubbock County and the juvenile
  boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close
  proximity to Lubbock County may agree to operate together with
  respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters
  specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating
  together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse
  funds for the boards.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
