relating to a study regarding the effect on birth rates in this | ||
state of the restructured system of providing certain women's | ||
health care and family planning services in this state. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. (a) In this section, "commission" means the | ||
Health and Human Services Commission. | ||
(b) The commission, using existing resources, shall conduct | ||
a study to examine the effect on unintended birth rates in this | ||
state of the changes in law made by Chapter 7 (S.B. 7), Acts of the | ||
82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011, to restructure the | ||
system of providing certain women's health care and family planning | ||
services. | ||
(c) The commission shall prepare a report that makes | ||
findings and recommendations regarding the issues studied under | ||
Subsection (b) of this section. | ||
(d) Not later than December 1, 2014, the commission shall | ||
submit to the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the | ||
house of representatives the report prepared under Subsection (c) | ||
of this section. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act expires September 1, 2015. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
