R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Lisa Renee Stacey Townsend of Tomball on March 18, 2023,
  at the age of 62; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Leon and Marilyn Newell Stacey, the
  former Lisa Stacey was born in Mobile, Alabama, on September 2,
  1960; during her freshman year at Spring High School, she met her
  future husband, Derek Townsend; the couple exchanged wedding vows
  on August 15, 1981, and they went on to share a rewarding marriage
  that spanned more than four decades; she took great pride in their
  son, Derek, and with the passing years, their cherished family grew
  to include three grandchildren, Ryker, Kason, and Charlotte; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Townsend attended Lamar University, where she
  was a pledge trainer and president of the Delta Lambda chapter of
  Delta Zeta Sorority; she worked as an accountant in Beaumont and
  opened the Gifts from the Heart gift shop with her sister Winnie;
  later settling with her family in Tomball, Mrs. Townsend played an
  active role in the community; she ran her husband's campaign for
  local office and represented District 130 as a delegate at the
  Republican State Convention on several occasions; she was also an
  original member of the Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women and
  served the organization in several capacities, including as
  president; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of devout faith, Mrs. Townsend was a Sunday
  school teacher at Champion Forest Baptist Church and a longtime
  member of the Christian Women's Club, and she served on the board of
  Rosehill Christian School; she later joined First Baptist Church in
  Tomball and co-chaired its greeting ministry; in her leisure time,
  she loved to cook and entertain friends and family, and she took
  pleasure in traveling, especially to the beach; and
         WHEREAS, Lisa Townsend lived a caring and purposeful life
  centered around her family, her faith, and her community, and she
  will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those she leaves
  behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lisa Renee Stacey
  Townsend and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Derek Townsend Sr.; to her son, Derek
  Townsend II, and his wife, Alex; to her father, Leon Stacey Sr.; to
  her siblings, Leon Stacey Jr. and Winnie Stacey; to her
  grandchildren, Ryker James, Kason Scott, and Charlotte Blake; and
  to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lisa
  Townsend.
