R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Civic-minded students from across the Lone Star
  State are gathering in Austin on April 17, 2013, to celebrate High
  School Republicans of Texas Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 2012, the High School Republicans of
  Texas is a new auxiliary group of the Republican Party of Texas and
  the official statewide Teen Age Republicans organization; with
  chapters in metropolitan areas across Texas, the group is working
  to identify and coordinate with existing high school Republican
  groups and to assist in the founding of new clubs; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the HSRT gain a hands-on understanding of
  the political process by partnering with their local parties and
  volunteering for campaigns during the general election; moreover,
  the organization offers young conservative Texans a platform from
  which to voice their opinions, and it helps them develop and
  communicate their views and ideals to their peers and others; and
         WHEREAS, Through efforts to provide its members direct
  experience with the political system, the High School Republicans
  of Texas has helped shape a more dynamic and engaged population of
  young Texans; now, therefore, be it
         
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize April 17, 2013, as High School
  Republicans of Texas Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm
  welcome to the members of the organization who are visiting on this
  day.
