| WHEREAS, Hipolito Hernandez served his country with great | ||
| honor and distinction as a member of the United States military, and | ||
| he is being recognized for his contributions at the Clint Veterans | ||
| Day Celebration on November 11, 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day in | ||
| recognition of the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all | ||
| who have served in the armed forces, including the former members of | ||
| the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast | ||
| Guard, and National Guard; by upholding America's foundational | ||
| values of selflessness and sacrifice, they have helped ensure that | ||
| our country's promise will endure for generations to come; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Hipolito | ||
| Hernandez served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Demonstrating exemplary dedication, Hipolito | ||
| Hernandez upheld the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces during | ||
| his years in uniform, and his fellow citizens owe him a lasting debt | ||
| of gratitude; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Hipolito Hernandez | ||
| for his military service on the occasion of the 2023 Clint Veterans | ||
| Day Celebration and extend to him sincere best wishes for the | ||
| future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
