WHEREAS, Tristan Solis of Rio Grande City has distinguished | ||
himself as a member of the first cohort of Luminary Scholars at The | ||
University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; and | ||
WHEREAS, This noteworthy scholarship program covers tuition | ||
and fees for four years of undergraduate education as well as | ||
additional years of professional or graduate studies; the program | ||
was unveiled in 2021 with the goal of improving student success and | ||
increasing educational opportunities; and | ||
WHEREAS, To earn selection as a Luminary Scholar, students | ||
must demonstrate exceptional academic ability, responsibility and | ||
leadership, and community involvement while in high school, and | ||
participants also commit to working in the Rio Grande Valley | ||
following their graduation; a fitting recipient of the scholarship, | ||
Mr. Solis is currently studying biology at UTRGV; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Tristan Solis has | ||
displayed admirable dedication and perseverance in the pursuit of | ||
his goals, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on his | ||
outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor Tristan Solis for his accomplishments as a | ||
Luminary Scholar at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and | ||
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Solis as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
