WHEREAS, Erica Newman graduated as the salutatorian of the | ||
senior class of Sanford-Fritch High School in Fritch on May 31, | ||
2013; and | ||
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, | ||
Ms. Newman demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of | ||
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to | ||
her studies are myriad; and | ||
WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom, | ||
Ms. Newman has distinguished herself as a member of the National | ||
Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars; a | ||
versatile athlete, she has played volleyball, basketball, and | ||
softball, and she has advanced to regional competition in both | ||
cross-country and golf; she has also served as vice president of the | ||
Business Professionals of America and advanced to state Workplace | ||
Skills Assessment Program events in medical office procedures and | ||
fundamental word processing; having earned numerous awards and | ||
scholarships, Ms. Newman plans to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State | ||
University and pursue a double major in chemistry and biology; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Erica Newman has | ||
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at | ||
Sanford-Fritch High, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard | ||
work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless | ||
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be | ||
it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Erica Newman, | ||
salutatorian of the Sanford-Fritch High School Class of 2013, and | ||
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she | ||
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Newman as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
