WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Recreation Center is marking its | ||
15th anniversary in April 2015, and this is a fitting opportunity to | ||
take note of this invaluable community resource; and | ||
WHEREAS, Opened on April 29, 2000, by the Pflugerville Parks | ||
and Recreation Department, this state-of-the-art, 21,675 | ||
square-foot facility features a gymnasium with two half courts, an | ||
elevated walking and jogging track, a nursery, and a game room where | ||
patrons may play Ping-Pong, pool, football, and air hockey; the | ||
center's "Pfitness" room features free weights, cardio equipment, | ||
and a weight training circuit; and | ||
WHEREAS, The center boasts nearly 1,400 members, and over | ||
4,000 people take part in the more than 40 classes and programs at | ||
the facility each week, including Zumba, gymnastics, and karate, as | ||
well as programs for seniors; and | ||
WHEREAS, For 15 years, the Pflugerville Recreation Center has | ||
provided a welcoming location where area residents happily come | ||
together for exercise, recreation, and good fellowship, and it is a | ||
pleasure to join in celebrating this milestone in its history; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commemorate the 15th anniversary of the | ||
Pflugerville Recreation Center and extend to the center's staff | ||
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the Pflugerville Recreation Center as an expression of | ||
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
