R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and J. W. and Diane Putman
  of Lamesa celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
  March 20, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Lamesa native J. W. Putman and the former Diane
  Baker were joined in matrimony in 1963 at a ceremony held in the
  bride's hometown of O'Donnell; through the years, they have been
  blessed with a treasured family that includes four children and
  their spouses, Kyle and Berenda Putman, Kevin Putman, Cindy and
  Zane Ham, and Tyler Ham, as well as three grandchildren and a
  great-granddaughter; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Putman
  worked for the Texas Highway Department for 35 years, and Mrs.
  Putman enjoyed a varied career that included employment with
  Claiborne's Thriftway for 12 years, serving as the Lamesa Middle
  School cafeteria secretary for two decades, and owning and
  operating the Donut Stop for seven years; in addition to meeting
  their work and family responsibilities, Mr. Putman is a congregant
  of Lamesa Church of Christ and enjoys traveling on his motorcycle
  while Mrs. Putman holds membership with Lamesa Christian Fellowship
  and makes custom-crafted pens; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Putman have enjoyed half a century of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate J. W. and Diane Putman on their
  golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Putman as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
