R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Emily Andrews of Dallas has attained the Girl Scout
  Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation, and she was
  honored for her accomplishment in a special ceremony on May 1, 2011;
  and
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Andrews successfully
  met a series of requirements emphasizing community service,
  personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership
  skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold
  Award project that will have a positive and lasting impact in her
  community; and
         WHEREAS, By helping young women to build confidence, explore
  career opportunities, and become more socially conscious, the Girl
  Scout program equips its participants with skills that will benefit
  them throughout their lives; and
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Andrews has
  demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest
  ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits
  special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Emily Andrews on her receipt of the
  Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Andrews as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
