R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kayla Peters of San Elizario High School
  participated in the inaugural Youth Voice Empowerment Summit held
  at El Paso Community College's Mission Del Paso Campus on October
  28, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Carlos Hipolito-Delgado, interim executive
  director of the Latino Research and Policy Center at the University
  of Colorado Denver, was a featured speaker at the event; designed to
  help students develop their leadership and decision-making skills,
  the summit also has the goal of equipping youth with the tools
  necessary to guide initiatives and important changes in their
  schools and communities; and
         WHEREAS, Kayla Peters is a freshman at San Elizario High and
  is actively involved in the campus community; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated
  exceptional drive and initiative and may indeed look forward to a
  future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Kayla Peters for
  participating in the 2023 Youth Voice Empowerment Summit and extend
  to this exemplary student sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Kayla Peters as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
