R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Victoria Vasquez of Palo Duro High School in
  Amarillo achieved great distinction with her exceptional
  performance in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023 University
  Interscholastic League Wrestling State Tournament; and
         WHEREAS, Competing in the 114-pound weight class,
  Ms. Vasquez punched her ticket to the state meet with a
  fourth-place showing at regionals; on February 17 and 18, she
  joined the top high school wrestlers in Texas at the Berry Center in
  Cypress; demonstrating tremendous skill and determination in all of
  her matches, she compiled three victories and ultimately clinched
  the silver medal in her division; and
         WHEREAS, By medaling in the state's premier showcase for high
  school wrestlers, Victoria Vasquez has ably represented her school
  and community, and she will long cherish her memories of this
  outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Victoria Vasquez on winning the
  silver medal in the 5A 114-pound weight class at the 2023 UIL
  Wrestling State Tournament and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Vasquez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
