| WHEREAS, Jayden McCoy of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus | ||
| Christi achieved great distinction by winning the silver medal in | ||
| the 4A long jump at the 2023 University Interscholastic League | ||
| Track & Field State Meet; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in | ||
| Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Mr. McCoy turned | ||
| in a notable performance, claiming a second-place finish by | ||
| recording a distance of 23 feet, 2.25 inches, on his first jump; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
| high school track and field athletes, Jayden McCoy has ably | ||
| represented his school and community, and he will cherish his | ||
| memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Jayden McCoy on his silver-medal | ||
| performance in the 4A long jump at the 2023 UIL Track & Field State | ||
| Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
