R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jayden McCoy of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus
  Christi achieved great distinction by winning the silver medal in
  the 4A long jump at the 2023 University Interscholastic League
  Track & Field State Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
  Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Mr. McCoy turned
  in a notable performance, claiming a second-place finish by
  recording a distance of 23 feet, 2.25 inches, on his first jump; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school track and field athletes, Jayden McCoy has ably
  represented his school and community, and he will cherish his
  memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jayden McCoy on his silver-medal
  performance in the 4A long jump at the 2023 UIL Track & Field State
  Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
