R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Tara Woods has been named a finalist for the
  2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year award in the Fort Worth
  Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
  become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
  who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
  in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, where she
  earned a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies, Ms. Woods
  has worked in the Fort Worth ISD for eight years; she is currently a
  kindergarten teacher at J. T. Stevens Elementary School and was
  recently recognized for her outstanding classroom work there by
  being named the Campus Teacher of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Tara Woods exemplifies the passion, determination,
  and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
  and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
  profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Tara Woods on her selection as a
  finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year award in
  the Fort Worth Independent School District and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success with her important work;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Woods as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
