R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating great skill and determination, Conor
  O'Rourke and Austin Mayo of Lake Travis High School won the
  University Interscholastic League 4A state championship in doubles
  tennis on May 10, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, After triumphing in their quarterfinal and
  semifinal matches in hard-fought three-set contests, Mr. O'Rourke
  and Mr. Mayo defeated opponents from Montgomery High School in the
  final in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-4; the duo were cheered on to
  victory by a large contingent of Cavalier followers; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. O'Rourke, a senior, and Mr. Mayo, a junior, are
  coached by Carol Creel; with their victory, they claimed their
  school's third championship at the UIL spring state tournament
  since 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state title represents the culmination of
  countless hours of hard work and an enduring commitment to
  excellence, and these talented student-athletes may take
  justifiable pride in this accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Conor O'Rourke and Austin Mayo on
  winning the UIL 4A state championship in doubles tennis and extend
  to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. O'Rourke and Mr. Mayo as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
