| WHEREAS, Lisa Saenz has been named salutatorian of the Class | ||
| of 2013 at San Isidro High School, and for achieving this | ||
| significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted | ||
| distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide | ||
| range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social | ||
| studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and | ||
| preparation are myriad; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom, | ||
| Ms. Saenz distinguished herself through her participation in UIL | ||
| Club and 4-H, which she served as a youth leader; moreover, she was | ||
| actively involved in the community as a volunteer for such events as | ||
| the San Isidro Festival, the Veterans Day program, and the Aptus | ||
| Health Fair, and she has contributed her time and energy to numerous | ||
| organizations, including the San Isidro Food Pantry, Driscoll | ||
| Children's Hospital, Little League, and Briarcliff Nursing Home and | ||
| Rehabilitation Center; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Saenz plans to pursue a degree in veterinary | ||
| medicine at Texas A&M University, with the long-term goal of | ||
| founding her own vet practice; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lisa Saenz earned the respect and admiration of her | ||
| teachers and classmates at San Isidro High, and her exceptional | ||
| scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have | ||
| surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this | ||
| remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Lisa Saenz, | ||
| salutatorian of the San Isidro High School Class of 2013, and extend | ||
| to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Saenz as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
