WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the | ||
death of Rogers Herndon Marsh, Sr., of Mineola, who passed away on | ||
April 1, 2013, at the age of 85; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born in Leggett on May 19, 1927, Rogers Marsh was the | ||
son of Manton and Ruth Marsh; he answered his nation's call to duty | ||
with valiant service in the Korean War, and after returning home, he | ||
had a long career as a manager with Southwestern Bell Telephone | ||
before retiring in 1981; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Marsh enjoyed the love and | ||
support of his wife, Helen, with whom he shared more than six | ||
decades of marriage; over time, their treasured family grew to | ||
include a son, two daughters and their spouses, and three | ||
grandchildren; and | ||
WHEREAS, Rogers Marsh enjoyed a life that was rich in the | ||
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those | ||
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Rogers Herndon | ||
Marsh, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his | ||
family: to his wife, Helen; to his son, Rogers Marsh, Jr.; to his | ||
daughters, Susie Carraway and her husband, Harvey, and Kathy Nail | ||
and her husband, Mike; to his grandchildren; to his three brothers | ||
and four sisters; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rogers | ||
Marsh, Sr. | ||
