| WHEREAS, Manaal Shaikh has distinguished herself in her | ||
| responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State | ||
| Representative Victoria Neave Criado during the 88th Legislative | ||
| Session; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship | ||
| Program, Ms. Shaikh has provided vital assistance in handling a | ||
| wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable | ||
| experience in the field of public service, she has learned more | ||
| about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the | ||
| Lone Star State; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Shaikh is a first-generation Pakistani | ||
| American, whose parents immigrated to the United States from | ||
| Pakistan in the 1990s; she has brought to her role as a legislative | ||
| aide previous experience as a volunteer with the grassroots | ||
| organization Done Waiting and as an intern in a political campaign | ||
| in Oklahoma; following her graduation from The University of Texas | ||
| at Dallas, she intends to pursue graduate studies in international | ||
| relations and public policy with a view toward a career in | ||
| diplomacy; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Manaal Shaikh has performed her duties as a | ||
| legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed | ||
| deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commend Manaal Shaikh for her service as a | ||
| legislative aide in the office of State Representative Victoria | ||
| Neave Criado and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Shaikh as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
