R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Detective Christopher J. Pyryt retired from the
  Plano Police Department on June 3, 2013, drawing to a close a
  notable career with the department that spanned more than a quarter
  of a century; and
         WHEREAS, Chris Pyryt entered the law enforcement field as a
  Hays County sheriff's deputy in 1983 and joined the Plano Police
  Department four years later; during his tenure with that agency, he
  served as a patrol officer, field training officer, hostage
  negotiator, and detective in the areas of narcotics, juvenile
  crime, and family violence and child abuse; he was also a member of
  an FBI computer forensics task force team; and
         WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Detective Pyryt gave
  generously of his time and expertise to a number of professional
  organizations, serving as vice president of the High Technology
  Crime Investigation Association and as a member of the board of
  directors of the Texas Municipal Police Association and the Plano
  Police Association; in addition, he worked with the Texas
  Legislature to improve family violence laws; and
         WHEREAS, Raised in Dallas, Detective Pyryt graduated from
  Lake Highlands High School and studied at Southwest Texas State
  University; actively engaged in his community, he is president of
  the Aviary Homeowners Association and a member of the board for the
  Plano East Band Booster Club; in all of his endeavors, he is
  supported by his wife, Terri, and his children, Anna Marie and
  William; and
         WHEREAS, Detective Christopher Pyryt's skill,
  professionalism, and commitment to protecting the safety and
  welfare of the public have greatly benefited the citizens of Plano,
  and he may indeed take pride in a career well spent as he embarks on
  the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Detective
  Christopher J. Pyryt on his retirement from the Plano Police
  Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Detective Pyryt as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
