| WHEREAS, The girls' 400-meter relay team from Bushland High | ||
| School achieved great distinction by winning the 3A bronze medal at | ||
| the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State | ||
| Meet; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in | ||
| Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, team members | ||
| Kenley King, Leah Ruthardt, Bayleigh Eason, and Jesse Fowler turned | ||
| in a notable performance, claiming third place with a time of 47.84 | ||
| seconds; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
| high school track and field athletes, these talented runners have | ||
| ably represented their school and community, and they will cherish | ||
| their memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to | ||
| come; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the Bushland High School girls' | ||
| 400-meter relay team on its bronze-medal finish in the 3A event at | ||
| the 2023 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to the athletes | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
