| WHEREAS, Michael O'Connor Simpson is graduating on May 18, | ||
| 2013, from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The | ||
| University of Texas at Austin; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In addition to completing this prestigious program, | ||
| Mr. Simpson currently serves as a legislative intern for State | ||
| Representative Ruth Jones McClendon, and his previous experience as | ||
| a policy intern for the City of Dallas and as a government relations | ||
| aide at Brinker International has made him a valuable asset on her | ||
| staff; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Simpson, a graduate of The School for the | ||
| Talented and Gifted in Dallas, earned his bachelor's degree in | ||
| history from Stanford University in 2009 and plans to pursue a | ||
| career in government and public policy; he is the son of proud | ||
| parents Lee Simpson and Sheila Ann O'Connor, who will be | ||
| celebrating the receipt of his MPA on a family trip to Ireland this | ||
| summer that will also include the honoree's brother and best | ||
| friend, Thomas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await Michael | ||
| Simpson, and it is a pleasure to join his friends and many loved | ||
| ones in honoring him as he embarks on a future bright with promise; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Michael O'Connor Simpson on his | ||
| graduation from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at | ||
| The University of Texas at Austin and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success and happiness in the years to come; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Simpson as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
