R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Xavier Soto graduated as the valedictorian of the
  senior class of San Isidro High School in 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; Mr. Soto has demonstrated a thorough
  understanding of a wide range of subjects, while participating in
  the National Honor Society, coaching Little Dribblers, and serving
  as a student aide; he has also been active in his parish at San
  Isidro Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Following his graduation, Mr. Soto plans to continue
  his education at The University of Texas--Pan American, where he
  will pursue a degree in criminal justice; he hopes to one day work
  with U.S. Customs and Border Protection; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Xavier Soto has
  earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates at
  San Isidro High School, and his exceptional scholastic ability,
  hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to
  limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Xavier Soto,
  valedictorian of San Isidro High School, and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Soto as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
