| WHEREAS, Tom Ramsey received the 2022 Philanthropy Award from | ||
| the Central Texas Community Foundation at the Round Rock Chamber's | ||
| annual awards banquet held on February 15, 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In 2003, Mr. Ramsey launched Celebration of Love, a | ||
| program focused on supporting families in need during the Christmas | ||
| season; he continued to expand its efforts, and from a project | ||
| serving 500 families during the holidays, it has grown into a | ||
| year-round organization; the Reaching Out Center is a food pantry | ||
| that also provides clothing and job training; in addition, it has | ||
| furnished food, water, and other aid to victims of natural | ||
| disasters; its Soldiers of America initiative, established in 2007, | ||
| offers both financial and emotional support to soldiers and | ||
| military veterans; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ramsey created the Tom Ramsey Foundation in 2019 | ||
| to fill gaps in community services by building bridges between | ||
| individuals, businesses, and civic organizations; Feed a Hero | ||
| delivered food to hospital workers and first responders during | ||
| 2020; Mr. Ramsey's One Love, One World, One Community initiative | ||
| has sought to assist communities in South and Central America where | ||
| basic infrastructure is lacking; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his tireless efforts, Tom Ramsey has helped | ||
| to make a positive difference in Williamson County and far beyond, | ||
| and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Ramsey on his receipt of the | ||
| 2022 Philanthropy Award from the Central Texas Community Foundation | ||
| and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his | ||
| endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Ramsey as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
