R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close when Monica Lisa Reyes of El Paso passed away on October 30,
  2010, at the age of 49; and
         WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on September 10, 1961, to Andres
  Martinez, Jr., and Maria Theodora Martinez, the former Monica Lisa
  Martinez graduated from Bel Air High School; she married Jorge Luis
  Reyes on August 31, 1985, and the couple became the parents of two
  beloved sons, Jorge and Nicolas; Mr. and Mrs. Reyes shared a
  rewarding marriage of a quarter-century; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Reyes made an immeasurable contribution to
  Hillside Elementary School in her capacity as a paraprofessional, a
  post she held for 11 years; she also participated for five years in
  the school's PTA, serving for three years as the group's president;
  in addition, Mrs. Reyes volunteered extensively in support of the
  many school programs in which her children were involved over the
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Through her warmth, kindness, and generosity of
  spirit, Mrs. Reyes left a lasting impression on many hearts, and she
  will forever be remembered with great tenderness and affection;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Monica Lisa Reyes
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Jorge Luis Reyes; to her sons, Jorge Luis Reyes, Jr., and
  Nicolas Reyes; to her father, Andres Martinez, Jr.; to her sisters,
  Irma Powell and her husband, Mark, and Melissa Betancourt and her
  husband, Eduardo; to her brother, Andres Martinez III; to her niece
  and nephew, Ashlee Powell and Joshua Betancourt; to her
  mother-in-law, Ana Maria Reyes; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Monica
  Reyes.
