R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned a
  quarter of a century, Jeff and Jean Riggs of Athens, Texas, are
  celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on December 17, 2013;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Riggs exchanged the vows of matrimony
  at the University of Houston chapel on that memorable day in 1988,
  and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other
  a devoted life partner; they count among their blessings a fine
  family that includes a son, Jerry, two grandchildren, Lane and
  Ciara, and a great-granddaughter, Lola; and
         WHEREAS, Employed by the City of Deer Park for more than 30
  years, Mrs. Riggs has also worked as a seminar leader and business
  consultant for Fred Pryor Seminars and traveled widely as a
  motivational speaker and instructor for a variety of organizations,
  including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the City of New
  York; in addition, she has served on the board of directors of
  Toastmasters International and has appeared on stage with the Deer
  Park Community Theatre and the Wagoner, Oklahoma, Community
  Theatre; Mr. Riggs is the associate editor of the Athens Daily
  Review and previously edited the Deer Park Progress/Broadcaster;
  and
         WHEREAS, For 25 years, Jeff and Jean Riggs have brought to
  their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a
  pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jeff and Jean
  Riggs on their 25th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere
  best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Riggs as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
