| WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership Day at the State Capitol is | ||
| taking place on February 21, 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A nonprofit with network partners across the nation, | ||
| Nurse-Family Partnership works to ensure the health and well-being | ||
| of mothers and their children; the organization provides in-home | ||
| nurse visits to low-income women who are experiencing their first | ||
| pregnancy, and the visits continue until the child's second | ||
| birthday; through the program, nurses offer valuable advice on | ||
| child care and become a trusted resource for families in need; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since expanding its network in 1996, Nurse-Family | ||
| Partnership has served more than 376,400 families in the United | ||
| States; the organization has provided maternal and infant care in | ||
| the Lone Star State for over 16 years, and more than 4,000 Texas | ||
| families have benefited from the program; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Nurse-Family Partnership has made a positive impact | ||
| in the lives of innumerable Texans, and the nurses associated with | ||
| the organization have earned the lasting admiration and | ||
| appreciation of their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2023, as Nurse-Family | ||
| Partnership Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those | ||
| participating sincere best wishes for a memorable and enjoyable | ||
| visit to Austin; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
