| WHEREAS, The citizens of El Paso lost a dedicated community | ||
| activist with the passing of Ray Gilbert on November 12, 2010, at | ||
| the age of 82; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An ever-vigilant watchdog for the public, Mr. | ||
| Gilbert regularly attended city council and county commissioners | ||
| court meetings to advocate for local taxpayers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He served as a member of the Thomason General | ||
| Hospital board and worked to ensure that money was properly used by | ||
| the El Paso County Hospital District as well as by the city, El Paso | ||
| Water Utilities, and the Public Service Board; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ray Gilbert will be greatly missed, but he left an | ||
| indelible mark on El Paso, and his commitment to the betterment of | ||
| his community will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ray Gilbert and extend | ||
| deepest sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ray | ||
| Gilbert. | ||
