R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The citizens of El Paso lost a dedicated community
  activist with the passing of Ray Gilbert on November 12, 2010, at
  the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, An ever-vigilant watchdog for the public, Mr.
  Gilbert regularly attended city council and county commissioners
  court meetings to advocate for local taxpayers; and
         WHEREAS, He served as a member of the Thomason General
  Hospital board and worked to ensure that money was properly used by
  the El Paso County Hospital District as well as by the city, El Paso
  Water Utilities, and the Public Service Board; and
         WHEREAS, Ray Gilbert will be greatly missed, but he left an
  indelible mark on El Paso, and his commitment to the betterment of
  his community will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ray Gilbert and extend
  deepest sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ray
  Gilbert.
