WHEREAS, Anagha Deepak, a junior at Round Rock High School, | ||
has distinguished herself through her participation in the 2023 | ||
United States Youth Ambassadors Program in Ecuador; and | ||
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau | ||
of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Youth Ambassadors Program | ||
brings together high school students and adult mentors from across | ||
the western hemisphere to promote mutual understanding, increase | ||
leadership skills, and foster a strong sense of civic | ||
responsibility through in-person and virtual exchange programs; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, One of only 18 students selected to visit Ecuador | ||
among thousands of applicants, Anagha Deepak was chosen based on | ||
her exemplary record of service and leadership, as well as her | ||
foreign language and critical thinking skills; as a youth | ||
ambassador in Ecuador, she engaged in various workshops and was | ||
actively involved in a number of community service initiatives, | ||
such as volunteering at a local school and planting a tree in Cumbe; | ||
she also immersed herself in the country's cultural practices and | ||
met with personnel at the U.S. Consulate in Guayaquil in order to | ||
present her ideas on multicultural areas that can help advance the | ||
long-standing relationship between the U.S. and Ecuador; and | ||
WHEREAS, For the final phase of her journey as a youth | ||
ambassador, Ms. Deepak is undertaking a project benefiting the | ||
Greater Austin community this fall; in recognition of her many | ||
achievements, she has accrued numerous accolades and awards, | ||
including the President's Volunteer Service Gold Award, | ||
Congressional Award Bronze and Silver Medals, and a Mayor's Special | ||
Recognition Award from Round Rock mayor Craig Morgan; and | ||
WHEREAS, Anagha Deepak has demonstrated remarkable drive and | ||
initiative in working toward her goals, and she may indeed reflect | ||
with pride on her accomplishments as she looks forward to a future | ||
bright with promise; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Anagha Deepak for | ||
her participation in the 2023 U.S. Youth Ambassadors Program in | ||
Ecuador and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Deepak as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
