R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center
  Society are gathering in Austin on March 8, 2023, for Ambulatory
  Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, An alternative to hospitalization for acute care,
  ambulatory surgery centers perform outpatient procedures that
  enable individuals to check out the same day and recover in the
  comfort of their own home; and
         WHEREAS, There are currently more than 500 ambulatory surgery
  centers licensed for operation by the Texas Department of State
  Health Services, and these facilities treat hundreds of thousands
  of patients each year; and
         WHEREAS, By providing quality medical care at a comparatively
  low cost, ambulatory surgery centers are helping to ensure the
  health and well-being of Texas residents, and these facilities are
  indeed deserving of recognition for the important role they play in
  the state's health care system; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 8, 2023, as Ambulatory Surgery
  Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol and commend the Texas
  Ambulatory Surgery Center Society for its work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
