| WHEREAS, Rocio Diaz is graduating as valedictorian of the | ||
| senior class of Mesquite High School in 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted | ||
| distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide | ||
| range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social | ||
| studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and | ||
| preparation are myriad; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Juanita Martinez and | ||
| Carlos Diaz, Ms. Diaz plans to continue her education at The | ||
| University of Texas at Austin, studying biology; she hopes to one | ||
| day establish a charitable institution; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Rocio Diaz has | ||
| earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at | ||
| Mesquite High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard | ||
| work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless | ||
| opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Rocio Diaz, | ||
| valedictorian of the Mesquite High School Class of 2013, and extend | ||
| to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the | ||
| next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Diaz as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
