WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eduardo | ||
Gracia Jr., who passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 50; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Born to Eduardo and Ninfa Gracia on June 29, 1970, | ||
Eddie Gracia grew up with the companionship of a sister, Anna; he | ||
attended Zapata High School, and after graduating in 1988, he | ||
continued his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a | ||
degree in civil engineering; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Gracia joined the Texas Department of | ||
Transportation in 1994 as an engineering assistant; during his long | ||
and distinguished tenure with the agency, he served as a | ||
transportation engineer and as an area engineer, and he was | ||
responsible for overseeing a wide range of highway, maintenance, | ||
and bridge construction projects; following his retirement from | ||
TxDOT in 2020, he took a supervisor position at SAM-Construction | ||
Services; and | ||
WHEREAS, A licensed professional engineer, Mr. Gracia also | ||
held certification as a concrete field testing technician and as a | ||
nuclear gauge operator/transporter; he received a number of honors | ||
over the course of his career, including awards from the American | ||
General Contractor Association and the Texas Asphalt Pavement | ||
Association; and | ||
WHEREAS, Admired for his many professional achievements as | ||
well as for his kind and generous nature, Eddie Gracia has left his | ||
family, friends, and colleagues with a wealth of memories that they | ||
will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eduardo Gracia Jr. and | ||
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his | ||
mother, Ninfa R. Gracia; to his sister, Anna Gracia; to his nephews, | ||
Juan Jose, Jorge, and Josue Vela; and to his other relatives and | ||
many friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eddie | ||
Gracia. | ||
