R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eduardo
  Gracia Jr., who passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 50;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born to Eduardo and Ninfa Gracia on June 29, 1970,
  Eddie Gracia grew up with the companionship of a sister, Anna; he
  attended Zapata High School, and after graduating in 1988, he
  continued his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a
  degree in civil engineering; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gracia joined the Texas Department of
  Transportation in 1994 as an engineering assistant; during his long
  and distinguished tenure with the agency, he served as a
  transportation engineer and as an area engineer, and he was
  responsible for overseeing a wide range of highway, maintenance,
  and bridge construction projects; following his retirement from
  TxDOT in 2020, he took a supervisor position at SAM-Construction
  Services; and
         WHEREAS, A licensed professional engineer, Mr. Gracia also
  held certification as a concrete field testing technician and as a
  nuclear gauge operator/transporter; he received a number of honors
  over the course of his career, including awards from the American
  General Contractor Association and the Texas Asphalt Pavement
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his many professional achievements as
  well as for his kind and generous nature, Eddie Gracia has left his
  family, friends, and colleagues with a wealth of memories that they
  will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eduardo Gracia Jr. and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Ninfa R. Gracia; to his sister, Anna Gracia; to his nephews,
  Juan Jose, Jorge, and Josue Vela; and to his other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eddie
  Gracia.
