| WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories | ||
| of Eula Mae Griffith West, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the | ||
| age of 69; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of Horace Griffith and Sadie Skinner | ||
| Griffith, the former Eula Griffith was born in Bayou Chicot, | ||
| Louisiana, on March 24, 1954, and she grew up with the companionship | ||
| of eight brothers and five sisters; she devoted herself to her faith | ||
| at a young age, and she was baptized at Morning Pilgrim Baptist | ||
| Church; she graduated from Bayou Chicot High School in Ville | ||
| Platte, Louisiana, in 1971; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. West was the proud mother of two children, | ||
| Elijah and LaTosha; over the years, she had the pleasure of | ||
| welcoming into her family four grandchildren, Mariah, Elijah, | ||
| Isiah, and Kingston, and two great-grandchildren, Taliah and | ||
| Az'Ryel; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Eula West led a life of caring devotion to her loved | ||
| ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will forever | ||
| live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
| of Eula Mae Griffith West and extend sincere condolences to the | ||
| members of her family: to her son, Elijah M. "Mark" West Sr.; to her | ||
| daughter, LaTosha M. West; to her granddaughter, Mariah J. West; to | ||
| her grandsons, Elijah West Jr. and his wife, Jada, Isiah West, and | ||
| Kingston Ernest Fields-West; to her great-granddaughter, Taliah | ||
| Ava West; to her great-grandson, Az'Ryel Ananias Isiah West; to her | ||
| sister, Eretta H. Blessett; to her brothers, Uylese Griffith and | ||
| Horace Griffith Jr.; to her sister-in-law, Gertie Mae Griffith; and | ||
| to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eula West. | ||
