| WHEREAS, Yazmin Guerra of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest | ||
| Early College High School distinguished herself with her | ||
| outstanding showing in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023 | ||
| University Interscholastic League Cross Country State | ||
| Championships; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in | ||
| Texas at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on November 3, Ms. Guerra | ||
| turned in a notable performance, delivering a personal best time of | ||
| 18 minutes, 19.6 seconds, to finish in eighth place in the 5A field; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
| high school cross country athletes, Yazmin Guerra has ably | ||
| represented her school and community, and she will cherish her | ||
| memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Yazmin Guerra | ||
| on her eighth-place finish in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023 | ||
| UIL Cross Country State Championships and extend to her sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
