R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Yazmin Guerra of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest
  Early College High School distinguished herself with her
  outstanding showing in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023
  University Interscholastic League Cross Country State
  Championships; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
  Texas at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on November 3, Ms. Guerra
  turned in a notable performance, delivering a personal best time of
  18 minutes, 19.6 seconds, to finish in eighth place in the 5A field;
  and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school cross country athletes, Yazmin Guerra has ably
  represented her school and community, and she will cherish her
  memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Yazmin Guerra
  on her eighth-place finish in the 5A girls' competition at the 2023
  UIL Cross Country State Championships and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
