A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the mailing of passenger items prohibited beyond an
  airport's security screening to the passenger's residence;
  authorizing a fee.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 22, Transportation Code,
  is amended by adding Section 22.028 to read as follows:
         Sec. 22.028.  MAILING OF PROHIBITED ITEMS TO PASSENGER'S
  RESIDENCE. (a) An operator of an airport under this chapter:
               (1)  shall provide passengers the option to mail to
  their residence an item prohibited beyond the airport's security
  screening; and
               (2)  may charge a passenger a fee to mail the item in an
  amount not to exceed $30 plus the cost of mailing the item.
         (b)  This section does not apply to an item that is:
               (1)  seized in connection with an alleged offense; or
               (2)  prohibited from being shipped by United States
  mail.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
