relating to a study of certain Electric Reliability Council of | ||
Texas actions. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. (a) The governor, with the advice and consent of | ||
the senate, shall appoint a person to conduct a study of the actions | ||
of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas taken during February | ||
2021 to respond to the extreme weather event of that month. | ||
(b) The person must have expertise in electricity markets. | ||
(c) The person shall submit a report of the findings of the | ||
study to the legislature. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
