| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Jose F. Cardenas for his outstanding service as a | ||
| member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso, | ||
| Jose Cardenas is president of Moreno Cardenas, Incorporated, a | ||
| consulting civil engineering firm in El Paso; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Cardenas is active in numerous professional | ||
| and community organizations; he is a member of the board of | ||
| directors of the El Paso Chapter of the American Society of Civil | ||
| Engineers and is past president of the El Paso Chapter of the | ||
| Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and he serves on the | ||
| executive committee of the Borderland Mobility Coalition of El | ||
| Paso; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Cardenas also remains active with his alma mater, | ||
| serving as chair of the College of Engineering Advisory Board at | ||
| The University of Texas at El Paso and sitting on the board of the | ||
| university's Alumni Association; he is a founding member of the | ||
| university's Alumni Academy of Civil Engineers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jose Cardenas has served his profession and his | ||
| community with honor and distinction, and it is truly fitting | ||
| that he be recognized for his many achievements; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Jose F. Cardenas for his many | ||
| contributions to the profession of engineering and to his state | ||
| and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his | ||
| future endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
