Jack Franklin Hardwick | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Dr. Jack Franklin | ||
Hardwick, who died April 10, 2013, at the age of 80; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jack Hardwick was born September 14, 1932, in | ||
Pavo, Georgia; he moved with his family at the age of 14 to | ||
Galveston, and he graduated from Ball High School; he married Pat | ||
Williams while he was a young man, and the couple was blessed with | ||
four children; and | ||
WHEREAS, He attended The University of Texas at Austin and | ||
earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical | ||
Branch at Galveston; he moved to Fort Worth with his family and | ||
entered into the practice of family medicine; he enjoyed a | ||
fulfilling 52-year career as a physician; and | ||
WHEREAS, On Thanksgiving Day of 1979, Dr. Hardwick married | ||
Jane Walker, and they enjoyed 33 years of marriage together; a | ||
leading Fort Worth citizen, Dr. Hardwick was active in numerous | ||
community organizations, including The Bridge, the Fort Worth | ||
Opera, and the Texas Exes, and he served as president of the local | ||
YMCA; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of courage, compassion, and generosity, he | ||
gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom and his enthusiasm for | ||
living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and | ||
WHEREAS, | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the | ||
bereaved family of Dr. Jack Franklin Hardwick; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the | ||
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do | ||
so in memory of Dr. Jack Hardwick. | ||
