| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
| citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Dorothy Thomas | ||
| South, who died May 22, 2013, at the age of 73; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Thomas was born in Pennsylvania to Adele | ||
| Butswinkas and Russell John Thomas; she attended the University | ||
| of North Texas and Texas Christian University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She married the late Albert Lee South, and the | ||
| couple was blessed with two daughters and four grandchildren; she | ||
| was a loving wife and a devoted mother; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was dedicated to her work as a homemaker and | ||
| was noted for her many talents; she was well-versed in the | ||
| English, Latin, and German languages, and she enjoyed sharing her | ||
| knowledge with others; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was an exemplary lady who was respected in the | ||
| community for her accomplishments, and she was a generous, | ||
| kindhearted person who touched the lives of many; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dorothy was a devout Christian, and her courage | ||
| and positive attitude were inspirational to others; she was | ||
| beloved by her family and friends, and she leaves behind memories | ||
| that will be treasured forever by all who were privileged to | ||
| share in her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
| 83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
| condolences to the bereaved family of Dorothy Thomas South; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the | ||
| Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do | ||
| so in memory of Dorothy Thomas South. | ||
