HOUSE BILL NO. 1315 Offered January 22, 2010 A BILL to amend and reenact §2.2-611 of the Code of Virginia, relating to auditing funds received from the federal government. ---------- Patron-- Pollard ---------- Referred to Committee on General Laws ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That §2.2-611 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§2.2-611. Acceptance by departments, etc., of funds from United States; application and audit of funds.

A. Any department, agency, bureau or institution of the Commonwealth may (i) accept grants of funds made by the United States government or any department or agency thereof, to be applied to purposes within the functions of such state department, agency, bureau or institution, and (ii) administer and expend such funds for the purposes for which they are granted.

B. The State Treasurer is appointed custodian of all such funds, and shall disburse them on warrants issued by the Comptroller for the department, agency, bureau or institution for whose use they are granted.

C. Any department, agency, bureau or institution of the Commonwealth receiving federal funds shall not be subject to audit by the Commonwealth for such federal funds.
