HOUSE BILL NO. 1317 Offered January 21, 2022 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 10.1-1105.2, relating to statewide urban and community forest management plan. ---------- Patron-- Hope ---------- Committee Referral Pending ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 10.1-1105.2 as follows:

§10.1-1105.2. Statewide urban and community forest management plan.

The Department shall develop a 10-year statewide urban and community forest management plan that includes goals for tree canopies in urban areas. The plan shall also include best management practices and local guidelines for localities, developed in conjunction with the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
