HOUSE BILL NO. 2250 Offered January 19, 2015 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 8 of Chapter 7 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-324.2, relating to mismanagement of grants; penalty. ---------- Patron-- Preston ---------- Committee Referral Pending ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 8 of Chapter 7 of Title 18.2 a section numbered 18.2-324.2 as follows:

§18.2-324.2. Mismanagement of grants; penalty.

Any person who is the director or manager of an agency, organization, or other entity, public or private, that receives a state or federal grant that provides funding affecting the health, safety, or welfare of its recipients and who mismanages such grant in a way that results in the permanent retraction of the grant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the grant requirements shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
