WHEREAS, for more than five decades, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals has worked to advance the roofing industry in the Commonwealth through education, advocacy, and workforce development and to uphold high standards for member organizations; and
WHEREAS, as the first line of defense against rain, snow, and other weather, the roof is one of the most important components of any home or business, and yet it is often taken for granted until it falls into disrepair; the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals was established in 1967 to support roofing contractors, consultants, and suppliers in their important mission; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals represents the hundreds of roofing companies and thousands of workers contributing to the installation of new construction and replacement roof systems on businesses and homes throughout the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, by promoting industry education, workforce development, and best practices, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals helps the roofing industry contribute to the economic prosperity of the Commonwealth by creating stable job opportunities and supporting the growth of the construction sector; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals and its member organizations play a vital role in every Virginia community; many roofing companies are small, privately held businesses that provide family-sustaining jobs, supporting the backbone of local economies; and
WHEREAS, in the first full week of June, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals celebrates Roofing Week to honor its members and the hundreds of roofing-related businesses and thousands of workers across the Commonwealth, as well as to highlight the roofing industry's commitment to public service, and underscore the profound impact of quality roofing on every home and business; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals for its decades of service to its members and commitment to excellence in the roofing industry on the occasion of Roofing Week 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the many contributions of roofing professionals to communities throughout the Commonwealth.
