WHEREAS, the Southside Youth Football League had a remarkable 2023 season with the 6u Norfolk Titans, the 10u Mighty Huntersville Wolverines, and the 12u Berkley Timberwolves entering the playoffs as the No. 1 seed, and the Bu Huntersville Wolverines entering the playoffs as the No. 2 seed; and
WHEREAS, the Southside Youth Football League championship games were played on November 11, 2023, at Booker T. Washington High School stadium where the 6u Norfolk Titans, Bu Huntersville Wolverines, 10u Mighty Huntersville Wolverines, and 12u Berkley Timberwolves prevailed as the 2023 Southside Youth Football League champions; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of head coaches Marvin Hall, Bobby Dee Hall, and Larry Williams, the young athletes of the Southside Youth Football League have learned valuable lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, friendly competition, and leadership; and
WHEREAS, the Southside Youth Football League is a valuable organization for the Norfolk community, and every player, parent, and supporter of the Southside Youth Football League should be proud of this momentous achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Southside Youth Football League for its remarkable 2023 season; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the leadership of the Southside Youth Football League, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement.
