Commending Mobile Hope.

WHEREAS, Mobile Hope is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Loudoun County that supports precariously housed, homeless, and at-risk youth, empowering them to become self-sufficient; and

WHEREAS, Mobile Hope grew out of a special project at Inova Loudoun Hospital that the organization's founder, Donna Fortier, established in 2011 after recognizing the concerning number of homeless and at-risk youth residing in Loudoun County; and

WHEREAS, incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization a year later, Mobile Hope is dedicated to supporting youth in need by providing them with emergency shelter and daily essentials like food, clothes, hygiene products, transportation, and school supplies; and

WHEREAS, Mobile Hope operates both out of its headquarters in Leesburg and through a fleet of buses that enhance the organization's ability to reach members of the community; and

WHEREAS, Mobile Hope provided young individuals and families with invaluable assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving those most adversely impacted by the historic health crisis; and

WHEREAS, Mobile Hope recently established the Graffiti & Silk thrift store in Purcellville, where all proceeds are used to fund the organization's programs and services; and

WHEREAS, in 2023, Mobile Hope provided more than 10,000 presents to approximately 2,500 children as part of its 12th annual Christmas Village event; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Mobile Hope are the result of the visionary leadership of its founder and chief executive officer, the tireless efforts of its volunteers and staff, and the unwavering support of its partners and the entire Loudoun County community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Mobile Hope for its legacy of service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Donna Fortier, chief executive officer and founder of Mobile Hope, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
