Commending Rose Chu.

WHEREAS, Rose Chu was honored by the Fairfax County Federation of Citizens' Associations for her outstanding community service with a Citation of Merit; and

WHEREAS, a health policy analyst at the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Rose Chu has been a resident of Bailey's Crossroads since 1987; and

WHEREAS, dedicated to the well-being of her fellow residents, Rose Chu has served as the Mason District representative on the Fairfax County Health Care Advisory Board for more than 25 years, providing wise insight and guidance on a variety of public health topics; and

WHEREAS, Rose Chu has also served in a variety of leadership roles with the Fairfax County Community Health Care Network, which provides primary health services to low income, uninsured residents; and

WHEREAS, a respected leader, Rose Chu served as a member of the Virginia Board of Medical Assistance Services from 2002 to 2008 and as its representative on the Medicaid Revitalization Committee in 2006; and

WHEREAS, Rose Chu has also been actively involved in issues of importance to Asian Pacific Americans, was one of the founders of the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans of Virginia, and is currently serving as the organization's secretary; and

WHEREAS, for eight years, Rose Chu has graciously volunteered her time to the Mason District Governmental Center as a tax counselor; and

WHEREAS, an outstanding citizen and role model, Rose Chu has touched the lives of countless Virginians through her selfless service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Rose Chu on her selection as a Citation of Merit recipient by the Fairfax County Federation of Citizens' Associations; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Rose Chu as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations and admiration for her commitment to serving the community.
