HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 671
Celebrating the life of Theresa Watson Johnson.

WHEREAS, Theresa Watson Johnson, a respected citizen of Carrollton who made many contributions to the community through her civic service, died on October 25, 2012; and

WHEREAS, a native of Newport News, Theresa Johnson excelled as a student and spent her professional career in administrative roles where her natural talents of organization and attention to detail proved to be of great benefit; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated employee, Theresa Johnson worked for the Pilot Life Insurance Company, the British Attaché at Fort Monroe, and Drs. Bernard Jamison and Desmond Longford over the course of her career; and

WHEREAS, an active member of the community, Theresa Johnson served as a member and social secretary for the Isle of Wight Citizens Association and president of the Carrollton Civic League and secretary of its Christian Outreach program; and

WHEREAS, Theresa Johnson provided valuable assistance on a number of Isle of Wight County School Board projects and took an interest in the preservation of Isle of Wight County history through her membership in the local historical society; and

WHEREAS, Theresa Johnson was recognized for her work by America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals, Strathmore's Who's Who, and Continental's Who's Who; and

WHEREAS, in her free time, Theresa Johnson enjoyed visiting with her many friends and family members, pursuing her interest in photography, and spending time at her home on the river; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Johnny, Theresa Johnson will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her son, Neal, and his family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an admired citizen of Carrollton, Theresa Watson Johnson; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Theresa Watson Johnson as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
