WHEREAS, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity is an esteemed women's organization devoted to serving the needs of the Franklin County community and beyond by fulfilling its mission to cultivate grace, strength, and dignity in all women; and
WHEREAS, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity was established by the late Lady Vivian Goodwyn, who had a spiritual vision to create an organization that would make a positive impact in the Franklin, Isle of Wight County, and Southampton County area; and
WHEREAS, guided by an unwavering commitment to integrity, excellence, service, and trustworthiness that is rooted in faith, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity strives to empower women to achieve their full potential in all aspects of life; and
WHEREAS, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity works in collaboration with its partner men's organization Brothers Keepers to encourage, enable, and facilitate women's active involvement in family, employment, learning, and community life; and
WHEREAS, the members of Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity come from diverse social and economic backgrounds yet share common goals of making a difference in the lives of others and supporting the community in meaningful ways; and
WHEREAS, through the tireless efforts of its members and the inspired leadership of president-elect Lady Sandra Williams and vice-president-elect Lady Renee Rose, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity has helped those it serves achieve a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment in their lives; and
WHEREAS, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity is continually seeking new members to join the organization and its cause, greatly extending and enhancing its ability to provide tangible and lasting benefits to the community; and
WHEREAS, with a steadfast commitment to empowering women and promoting social progress, Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity has been a catalyst for change and made Franklin County and its surrounding areas a more wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity hereby be commended for fulfilling its mission to cultivate grace, strength, and dignity in all women in Franklin County and beyond; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Women of Grace, Strength, and Dignity as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's legacy of service in Franklin County and the Commonwealth.
