WHEREAS, the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America was selected by the National Future Farmers of America Organization as the winner of its National Middle School Model of Excellence award in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the National Middle School Model of Excellence award recognizes outstanding Future Farmers of America chapters that actively implement the organization's mission and strategies to facilitate youth leadership and promote agricultural education; and
WHEREAS, the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America competed against 10 other chapters and received high marks for its work to grow young leaders across the county, build a sense of community, and strengthen agriculture; and
WHEREAS, the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America promoted agricultural literacy to children through its "March is Ag Literacy Month" program at the local library by presenting an assortment of agriculture books with accompanying activities and take-home items for attendees; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America also hosted a petting zoo, which included local farm animals, along with an informative booth at the school's annual Back-to-School Bash as a way to attract more student engagement in agriculture; and
WHEREAS, the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America received the prestigious award at the 96th National Future Farmers of America Convention & Expo, held in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 1–4, 2023; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America hereby be commended on its selection as the recipient of the 2023 National Middle School Model of Excellence award; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Carroll County Middle School Future Farmers of America as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to the advancement of agricultural education.
